
Export Promotion Bureau
Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) of Bangladesh is a government agency under the Ministry of Commerce of the Government of Bangladesh which is responsible for promoting export of the country. Its mains tasks are: Formulating of strategy and programmes for promotion of exports ; diversification of export base, exploring new foreign markets of exportable products ; participation in international trade fairs coordination among all export development efforts ; monitoring and evaluating national export performance ; undertaking of promotional activities in product development ; and conducting studies, surveys and research related to international trade policy and practices and market trends. etc. for expansion and diversification of export.
EPB is the central point for international traders who are interested to import high quality products from Bangladesh at a very competitive price. EPB welcomes trade queries of all sorts and welcomes businessmen to visit Bangladesh to view for themselves the production process and negotiate deal with the exporters.
Mir Shahabuddin Mohammad, an Additional Secretary to the Government of Bangladesh currently leads EPB as its Vice Chairman.
Notably, EPB is the government agency entrusted with the responsibility of issuing GSP certificates.
EPB is sponsoring the Bangladesh Pavilion in the European Seafood Exposition (ESE) 2005 to be held in Brussels on 26–28 April 2005.
